A NEW COUNTRY

A NEW CHAPTER

At the end of 2013, I moved to Savannah, Georgia, to begin a new chapter of my life at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).

My journey began with the English as a Second Language (ESL) program, where I completed all the required levels before starting my academic studies.

Living abroad introduced me to people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, each with their own beliefs and perspectives. I built meaningful friendships that broadened my worldview and taught me to appreciate different ways of seeing the world.

I also formed friendships with fellow Saudis from different regions of the Kingdom. I took pride in representing Saudi Arabia and sharing our culture, traditions, and values with the people I met, while learning from their experiences and perspectives in return.

As part of my Film and Television studies, I completed a five-month internship at WTOC-TV, a CBS-affiliated television station in Savannah, Georgia. This experience gave me valuable exposure to a professional broadcasting environment and helped me connect my academic learning with real-world media production.

In May 2019, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Film and Television. Looking back, my university journey was about more than earning a degree. It was about personal growth, meaningful friendships, cultural exchange, and gaining the knowledge and experience that laid the foundation for my career in visual storytelling.
